I made it to God’s country! Day 4 at Whippoorwill Resort, approximately 12 miles northeast of Park Rapids in Hubbard County, Minnesota. This area will always be special to me. Our family cabin was also located on Bottle Lake, about 1 mile from here. Whenever I saw the signs on the gravel road for Hoosier Beach, Birch Harbor, and Home Bay Resort, I knew we were almost to the cabin!
We’re heading out to fish. I’ve never been much of a fisherman, but Dad really wanted to go out in the boat and try his luck. Who am I to say ‘no?’
UPDATE: We got 3 large Bluegills and almost landed a BIG fish that broke my dad’s line. Most likely a northern pike.
My family will be here until Saturday. Just enjoying the peace and quiet of “lake life” makes for a perfect vacation. Hopefully, we’ll be able to do this every summer for a long, long time!
