I found these yesterday at the Mall of America Dollar Tree. From the Island of Misfit Jelly Beans: Jelly Bellys in odd shapes, colors, or sizes. They taste the same and are about half the cost. Just $1.00 for this package!
In this case, “rejects” are a great thing. “Less-than-perfect beans”, as the Jelly Belly people put it. Because they cannot be sold as Jelly Bellys, these beans are repackaged and sold as Belly Flops. Genius!
Try ’em! If you like ’em, you can order larger sizes online. From what I was able to find, the price of Belly Flops in the larger size packages is also about half of what you pay for Jelly Bellys. Again, they taste exactly the same. Only your wallet will know the difference.
