It never ceases to amaze me what is available on YouTube. I found a 25 minute clip of the first rock concert I ever attended: Queen at the Civic Center in St. Paul, Minnesota. This show from “The Game” tour took place on Sunday, September 14, 1980. A fan made this bootleg recording on Super 8mm film!
Just the fact that someone was able to accomplish this is amazing in itself. An 8mm camera wasn’t an easy thing to smuggle into an arena! It’s not like today when everyone can record high resolution digital video and audio with their phones. Not to mention, the fact that this survived for 33 years in someone’s basement or garage is truly amazing!
